The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current opportunities and challenges faced by the Florida Court Clerks and Comptrollers and their stakeholders and obtain input on how the Clerks can improve working relationships and support stakeholders’ roles and responsibilities. The main discussion areas were technology, education and training, partnerships and customer service/communications.

The program was facilitated by Alaa El-Halwagy, CEO, Innovative Group – USA.  Mr. El-Halwagy is also an instructor with the Florida State University’s Certified Public Manager program. More than 50 partners, representing 17 separate agencies, participated in group discussions led by:

·         The Honorable Stacy M Butterfield, CPA (Polk), and the Honorable Bob Inzer (Leon) for the Education and Training area.

·         The Honorable Carolyn Timmann (Martin) and the Honorable Ken Burke, CPA (Pinellas), for the Partnerships area.

Several positive themes came out of the meeting. Suggestions included increased use of communication tools for both strategic partners and the public. Also, the expansion of CCIS and enhancements to the E-Filing Portal were praised throughout the meeting.

In the coming weeks, the Strategic Planning Committee will address meeting findings and determine where we can improve working relationships and support stakeholders’ roles and responsibilities.
