The Honorable Jeffrey R. Smith, CPA (Indian River) has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
For the 33rd consecutive year, the honor of Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the county’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), has been awarded to Indian River County, which is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The Clerk’s office also received the Award for Outstanding Achievement for Popular Annual Financial Reporting (PAFR) Program.
“This was the first PAFR ever produced for the residents of Indian River County,” said Clerk of Court and Comptroller, Jeffrey R. Smith. “I am delighted that it was recognized with an award by the GFOA. This award reaffirms that we met our goal of providing residents with an easy to understand summary of Indian River County’s financial activities for the past fiscal year. I would like to thank my staff, especially the Finance Department, led by Finance Director Diane Bernardo and Assistant Finance Director Elissa Nagy, along with my Staff Assistant Laura McIver, for the development and production of this PAFR. It was designed entirely in house.”
