Constitution Revision Commission holds public hearing in Fort Myers on Wednesday

The 2017-2018 Florida Constitution Revision Commission (CRC) held another in its series of public hearings last week on the campus of Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, with approximately 100 in attendance. The association would like to thank the Honorable Clayton O. Rooks, III (Jackson), for attending Wednesday’s hearing and the Honorable JD Peacock II (Okaloosa) for attending and speaking on behalf of Clerks of Court and Comptrollers, highlighting the critical role Clerks play in public safety. This week, the CRC heads to Lee County for a hearing in Fort Myers on Wednesday, from 5 – 8 p.m., EDT, at Florida SouthWestern State College, Suncoast Credit Union Arena, 13351 FSW Parkway, Fort Myers, FL 33919. A hearing will follow on May 17 in Hillsborough County from 5 – 8 p.m., EDT, at Hillsborough Community College, Dale Mabry Campus, DSTU Auditorium, Room 111 (Student Services Building), 4001 West Tampa Bay Blvd, Tampa, FL 33614. And prior to the meeting on May 17, the CRC Rules Working Group will convene from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the same location; the full agenda may be accessed via this link.

 

The Honorable Ken Burke, CPA (Pinellas), Chair of the Forerunners Courageous Committee, is contacting local Clerks and Comptrollers to coordinate participation at these upcoming hearings.
