CRC Committee Week cancelled; scheduled to meet next week in Tallahassee

Monday, September 18, 2017   (0 Comments)

Due to Hurricane Irma, Constitution Revision Commission (CRC) Chair Carlos Beruff last week announced the cancellation of this week’s CRC committee week and full CRC meeting, previously scheduled for September 18-19 in Tallahassee. During an earlier meeting, the CRC Rules and Administration Committee recommended a September 22 deadline for submitting public proposals for the CRC’s consideration; however, as noted in Tuesday’s press release, given the impact the recent storm on Florida, the committee plans to recommend a new deadline that will be subject to approval by the full CRC. Membership will notified as soon as the new deadline is provided.

Public and Commissioner proposals continue to be filed. Almost 500 public proposals and seven Commissioner proposals have been filed online thus far. These proposals may be viewed and monitored via the CRC’s official website at http://www.flcrc.gov. From the home page, select “Proposals” from the menu bar at the top of the page, then select either “Commissioner Proposals” or “Public Proposals” to view activity. The online submitted proposals may be searched in a variety of ways and Commissioner proposals may be tracked with a CRC account. To create a CRC account, please visit: https://www.flcrc.gov/Account/Signup.

The next CRC committee week is scheduled for September 25-29 in Tallahassee. The weekly schedule of CRC meeting time allocations for next week’s committee week may be accessed via this link. As a reminder, all CRC committee meetings are open to the public and will be streamed live online via The Florida Channel.
