Indian River Clerk’s office honored with two awards

Tuesday, July 26, 2016   (0 Comments)

The Indian River Clerk of Court and Comptroller’s office was recognized as one of the 2016 Best Places to Work in Indian River County. The Clerk’s office won for large employers in the “Over 50 Employees” category. The award is presented to local employers whose employment practices are considered the best in the County.

“I am ecstatic to be named a Best Place to Work in Indian River County. Since we are a government agency, we cannot offer the same types of benefits or pay as a private business. Being presented this award reaffirms that we are doing everything we can to attract the best employees to service our community,” said the Honorable Jeffrey R. Smith (Indian River).

Clerk Smith was also presented with the Access to Justice Award by Florida Rural Legal Services for his dedication to ensuring equal access to the Courts for all citizens.

Smith said, “I am humbly appreciative of the recognition from Florida Rural Legal Services with the Access to Justice Award. I value our partnership and their mission and applaud their efforts on behalf of those who, through circumstance, cannot afford effective legal representation.”
