General Session Keynote: Dr. Jerry D. Parrish
Tuesday, February 28, 2017, 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. 

Dr. Jerry D. Parrish is the current Chief Economist and Director of Research at the Florida Chamber Foundation. The Chamber Foundation focuses on identifying solutions to challenges facing Florida.  Dr. Parrish is the former Chief Economist and Director of the Center for Competitive Florida at Florida TaxWatch. Florida TaxWatch is a statewide non-profit, non-partisan taxpayer research institute. 


He earned an M.B.A. from Bellarmine University, an M.S. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Auburn University. He regularly publishes articles on the Florida economy, Florida’s competitiveness, Florida’s property and casualty insurance system, and other economic topics of interest to Floridians.  Dr. Parrish previously served as the Associate Director of the Center for Economic Forecasting & Analysis (CEFA) at Florida State University. Prior to this faculty position at FSU, he spent several years in management roles for leading worldwide manufacturing companies.

Second Day Keynote: Jeffrey C. Cleveland

Jeffrey C. Cleveland is a principal and the chief economist at Payden & Rygel. He is responsible for developing views on the US and global economy.  His research areas include macroeconomics, central banks and the money markets, money supply, and credit cycles. Cleveland is a frequent speaker at industry forums and is often quoted in the financial media on topics related to the economy and investing.  He has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg Television and Fox Business News.
Closing Keynote: Bob Smedley
Thursday, March 2, 2017, 10:20 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Bob Smedley is the InVEST Statewide Coordinator for the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence (FCADV). He coordinates advocates and law enforcement partners who provide safety services to domestic violence survivors at high risk for homicide. Smedley comes to this work with 38 years of experience in the criminal justice system, holding perpetrators accountable for their acts of violence through community supervision. He has been a frequent speaker throughout the state of Florida on how a community coordinated response to ending domestic violence is critical to survivor safety. He was the recipient of the American Probation and Parole Association Line Officer of the year award in 2006.
