The Honorable James "Matt" Terry was appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis as Gulf County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller on February 13, 2026, and was sworn in by Gulf County Judge Timothy James McFarland on February 18.
Clerk Terry is the Owner and Appraiser for the Appraisal Group of North Florida. Active in his community, he was an elected member of the School Board of Gulf County and is the President of the Appraisal Institute of Florida’s Gulf Coast. Clerk Terry earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Flagler College.
