| Statewide Hope Card Program |
During the 2024 session, the Florida Legislature passed CS/CS/CS/SB 86 - Hope Cards for Persons Issued Orders of Protection, which requires Clerks of Court to develop and implement a Hope Card Program in Florida.
In support of this legislation, a person who has been issued a final injunction for protection against domestic violence, stalking, repeat violence, sexual violence, dating violence, or abuse or exploitation of an elderly person or disabled adult may apply for a free digital or wallet-sized “Hope Card” with the Clerk of Court where the petition was originally filed.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR A HOPE CARD?A person who has been issued a final injunction for protection against domestic violence, stalking, repeat violence, sexual violence, dating violence, or abuse or exploitation of an elderly person or disabled adult may apply for a free digital or wallet-sized
“Hope Card” with the Clerk of Court where the petition was originally filed.
A person may apply for a Hope Card at any time after the final judgment for injunction is issued and at any time prior to the expiration of the underlying injunction.
WHAT DOES A HOPE CARD lOOK LIKE?Applicants can request a free physical or electronic wallet-sized "Hope Card" that will look similar to the below statewide approved design.

WHAT INFORMATION IS INCLUDED ON A HOPE CARD?
How long is a hope card valid?Issued Hope Cards will be valid for two years or until the injunction expires, whichever occurs first, but may be renewed if the injunction remains in effect. A Hope Card may be renewed after the two year period if the underlying injunction remains in effect.
HOW CAN I APPLY FOR A HOPE CARD?If you have a final injunction for protection, obtaining a Hope Card is straightforward and free of charge. To apply for and receive a a Hope Card, visit or contact your local Clerk of Court’s office in the county where your petition for protection was originally filed and request either a physical or electronic version. Visit your county's website to learn more about your local Clerk of Court's Hope Card Program.
