Annual Florida Courts E-Filing Authority meeting held

The Florida Courts E-Filing Authority met on June 26, 2018 at the 2018 Summer Conference in West Palm Beach and held the annual meeting of the membership. During the meeting, the Board of Directors held the annual elections, where the Honorable Jeffrey R. Smith, CPA (Indian River), was re-elected as Florida Courts E-Filing Authority Vice Chair and the Honorable Tara S. Green (Clay) was re-elected as Secretary/Treasurer for 2018-19.

The Board of Directors passed their annual budget showing the Authority as fully funded for another year. To that end, the Honorable Tara Green has formed a Funding Work Group to review the funding and the originating documents and will be providing a full report in the fall.

In his annual report to the members, the Honorable Tim Smith (Putnam), Florida Courts E-Filing Authority Chair, told the members, “With almost 200,000 registered users, our volume – daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly -- are higher than any other e-filing system in the country.” It was reported that volumes continue to increase as more users are added each month and more documents are sent through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.
