Former Clerk Dave Lang Street Renaming Dedication Ceremony Held

The City of Tallahassee honored former Clerk Dave Lang for his 42 years of service by renaming a portion of East Jefferson Street as Dave Lang Street. The dedication ceremony took place today, Monday, March 2, at 10:00 a.m. at 215 S. Monroe St., near the Leon County Courthouse.
The City Commission unanimously approved the renaming on January 14, recognizing Lang’s deep roots in the community and his decades of public service. A sixth‑generation Floridian, Lang served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve before beginning his career with Leon County in 1959. He was elected Clerk in 1992 and is credited with modernizing the office and expanding public access to records.
Beyond his professional achievements, Lang has been active in numerous civic organizations and is well known for his work preserving local history. His contributions continue to shape Tallahassee and Leon County today.
