Tuesday, August 21, 2018   (0 Comments)
The Honorable James O. Shelfer, Second Judicial Circuit, on August 9, 2018, ruled to allow Amendment 10 to remain on the ballot for the general election in November.  The decision was appealed to the 1st DCA, which certified the appeal to the Supreme Court of Florida as involving a question of great public importance.  The Supreme Court accepted jurisdiction of the appeal on August 13, 2018.

“On behalf of the Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers, we applaud Judge Shelfer’s decision," said the Honorable Sharon Bock (Palm Beach), President, Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers. "Amendment 10 guarantees your right to vote for the public trustees who protect public funds, communities and our way of life. I am proud to stand with all court clerks and comptrollers to educate the public about the importance of Amendment 10.”

Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers voted unanimously in June to support an Amendment 10 educational campaign during the 40th Anniversary Summer Conference.
