Clay Clerk Selected as Guardian ad Litem Community Advocate of the Year 2018

The Honorable Tara S. Green (Clay) was recently named the 2018 Statewide Guardian ad Litem Community Advocate of the Year for the Fourth Judicial Circuit. The surprise award was presented to Clerk Green by Lisa Johnson, Guardian ad Litem Victim Advocate Manager.  

Each year the staff at the Clerk’s office purchases Christmas gifts for children in the Guardian ad Litem Program. Each child receives 5-8 wrapped gifts, which include toys, clothing, cozy blankets, school and art supplies, treats, and more. This year the Clerk’s office provided gifts to fifteen children between the ages of 10 months and 9 years of age. A gift is also provided for the caregiver of these children.

Clerk Green considers this annual effort a true labor of love that demonstrates how helpful and caring her employees are. "Our Clerks look forward to this effort every year because they feel it exhibits their true Christmas spirit," Green said. "This unexpected nomination and recognition from the Guardian ad Litem staff is an honor for our whole team."
