St. Lucie Clerk’s office now issuing virtual marriage licenses

Wednesday, June 24, 2020   (0 Comments)

St. Lucie couples wishing to get married can now apply for their marriage license online. The convenient service allows couples to complete the application digitally and be interviewed via Zoom. “You can miss your wedding because of a flat tire or missed flight, but we didn’t want a global pandemic to be a reason,” said the Honorable Joe Smith (St. Lucie). “Now couples don’t need to risk exposure to COVID-19 to apply for their marriage license.”

To apply for a marriage license, applicants can complete an online application. Once submitted, a Deputy Clerk will e-mail information on how to process the payment and schedule their video conference. If the applicants don’t have a webcam on their home computer, they can use their smart phone to conduct the interview and sign the license.
