Third Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Mark E. Feagle has appointed James M. Swisher, Jr.as the Clerk Ad Interim for Columbia County, effective Friday, August 14, 2020, 2 p.m., EDT. Clerk Swisher was sworn in on Friday, August 14, at 1:45 p.m. The Honorable P. DeWitt Cason was present during the swearing in, before he officially retired on Friday afternoon. After the swearing in ceremony, the proclamation to approve August 14th as “P. DeWitt Cason Day in Columbia County” was approved. The association would like to thank Clerk Cason for his years of service to Columbia County and his role in supporting the Clerks. The association would also like to wish him well in retirement.
Please welcome James M. Swisher, Jr. as the Columbia County Clerk, Ad Interim. Clerk Swisher was also unopposed in the upcoming elections and will begin his first full term as Clerk in January.
