Charlotte Clerk awarded top financial honors

The Honorable Roger D. Eaton (Charlotte) has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2019, from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).

This is the fourth consecutive year that Clerk Eaton has received this award. The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the county’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government agency and its management.

The Charlotte County Clerk and Comptroller’s CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.

“It is a tribute to have my Comptroller Division recognized for their hard work,” said Clerk Eaton. “They meticulously prepare financial presentations which consistently meet high standards for transparency, full-disclosure, and accuracy.”
