As the 2020 year is quickly coming to an end, it also means that many of our Clerks are winding down their last few days in the office before their impending retirements. The Honorable Tara S. Green (Clay), FCCC President, and FCCC have been acknowledging these retiring Clerks by providing them a recognition award for their many years of service to the citizens of Florida and FCCC. With the COVID-19 pandemic still impacting Florida statewide, many retiring Clerks were not able to hold retirement gatherings; however, some Clerks have had virtual retirement ceremonies or limited receptions recently. The Marion Clerk’s office hosted a virtual celebration for the Honorable David R. Ellspermann (Marion) last Thursday, which provided the opportunity for friends and colleagues to recognize Clerk Ellspermann. Earlier in the week, Clerk Ellspermann was honored by the Marion County Commission for his 24 years of service as Clerk and Comptroller. The Commission proclaimed that January 4, 2021 will be "David R. Ellspermann" day. For those not able to join the virtual celebration, they can still leave a message for Clerk Ellspermann online. The Honorable Ray Norman (Bradford) was also honored this past week as he hosted individual meetings with friends and colleagues outside his office. Clerk Norman also has an online guestbook for those who would like to leave him a special message. In addition, the Honorable Marcia M. Johnson (Franklin) was honored last week by the Franklin County Commission for her 47 years of service in the Clerk’s office. Clerks can read more about Clerk Johnson and her tenure in the Franklin Clerk’s office in this Apalachicola Times article. As the final days in office come to an end for retiring Clerks, FCCC would like to thank all those Clerks for their service to FCCC and Florida and the FCCC team wishes them well in their retirement.
