Lee Clerk announces retirement

The Honorable Linda Doggett (Lee) has announced her retirement effective February 18, 2022, after nearly four decades of public service to Lee County. Clerk Doggett was first elected Clerk in 2012, and before being elected, worked in the Clerk’s office in various leadership positions dating back to 1984. “I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities this office has afforded me both professionally and in service to the community for the past 37.5 years,” Doggett said. “I am also very proud to have led a talented team of professionals who work hard every day to serve the people of Lee County.” Clerk Doggett currently serves as the CiviTek Committee Chair, has served on the FCCC Board of Directors and as District Director from 2013-2021, and was voted FCCC Clerk of the Year in 2019. The association would like to thank the Honorable Linda Doggett for her many years of service to Lee County and her role in supporting the Clerks of Florida. The association wishes her well in retirement. Clerk Doggett has recommended that Governor Ron DeSantis appoint the Lee County Chief Operating Officer Kevin Karnes to replace her as interim Clerk.
