The Honorable Roger D. Eaton (Charlotte) has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA)for his office’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the year ended September 30, 2020.
This is the fifth consecutive year that Clerk Eaton has received this award. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government agency and its management.
The Charlotte County Clerk and Comptroller’s CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
“It is a tribute to have my Comptroller Division recognized for their hard work,” said Clerk Eaton. “They meticulously prepare financial presentations which consistently meet high standards for transparency, full-disclosure, and accuracy.”
