Monday, June 13, 2022   (0 Comments)

The 2022 FCCC Summer Conference was held at Rosen Shingle Creek last week. The conference kicked off Tuesday, June 7, 2022, with keynote speaker Terry P. Lewis, who is a former circuit judge.

The Honorable Carolyn Timmann (Martin) was installed as the Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers President during the Annual Banquet on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. President Timmann was sworn in by Martin County Sherriff, William D. Snyder, and will take over for the Honorable Angel Colonneso, Esq. (Manatee), who served as FCCC President during 2021-2022. President Timmann’s theme for the year is “Treasuring the Past, Charting the Course & Building the Future.”

"I am extremely honored to lead such dedicated public servants as Florida’s Clerks of Court and Comptrollers,” said 2022-2023 FCCC President Timmann. “This year, I want to bring us together to harness the lessons of our past, embrace innovation and chart an ambitious course to provide exceptional service to all Floridians. To help accomplish that mission and exceed our common goals, we will continue to build upon relationships with our valued partners at the state and local level. I look forward to working closely with my colleagues and all we will accomplish together.”

The Honorable Angel Colonneso, Esq., presented the Honorable Doug Chorvat Jr. (Hernando) with the Clerk of the Year award for 2022. Clerk Chorvat took leadership on the CJDT effort and regularly communicated with Clerks and our partners at FDLE and the Florida Legislature to make sure this project was a success, and that the deadlines were met by all Clerks. Clerk Colonneso stated that “we could not have accomplished this task without true leadership and for that I want to honor Clerk Doug Chorvat as the 2022 FCCC Clerk of the Year.”

Thank you to all who participated in the 2022 Summer Conference. As a reminder, CPE credits approved by DBPR and The Florida Bar will be shared with all conference attendees this week. Recorded sessions from the conference are anticipated to be available in CertiClerk by July 8.
