Ron DeSantis is being sworn in for his second term as the Sunshine State’s governor today, January 3, 2023. Also being sworn in for their second terms are cabinet members, CFO Jimmy Patronis and Attorney General Ashley Moody. Being sworn in for his first term is newly elected Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Wilton Simpson. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at noon by the Old Capitol steps.
The Florida House and Senate are also convening on Wednesday, January 4, and Thursday, January 5, for the next interim committee week. The focus for this week is expected to be introductory meetings of the committees. The FCCC team will continue to send out regular calendar invites and updates on bills of interest.
