Clerk Harvey Ruvin (Miami-Dade) passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 85 years old. Clerk Ruvin was the longest-serving elected official in Miami-Dade County and remembered by friends and family as a “progressive politician sounding the alarm early on the environment, a considerate boss frequently running late from too many chats with court employees, and as a man who enjoyed life, snapping photos of sunsets, smiling habitually and rarely missing a Wednesday night poker game that lasted for decades.” To read more, please click here.
Clerk Harvey’s Memorial Service was held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., ET, at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium. In lieu of flowers, the Ruvin family asks that donations be made to the Harvey Ruvin Memorial Fund. Checks can be made payable to The Miami Foundation with the memo line referencing “Harvey Ruvin Memorial Fund.” Donations will be used to support causes that were important to Harvey.
