The Honorable Carolyn Timmann (Martin), FCCC President, hosted “Martin Days” in Martin County on January 9-11, 2023. During the three-day event, Clerks enjoyed fellowship and participated in several educational tours of iconic Martin County facilities.
The event kicked off with an intimate dinner at Drift. On Tuesday, Clerks participated in an educational tour of the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center, Martin County Airport at Witham Field, Sailfish Sands Golf Course, Sailfish Splash Waterpark, Martin County Clerk and Comptroller’s Office, and Historic Jail. Additionally, attendees met with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and the Martin County Fire Rescue Department to learn about their facilities and get an up-close look at their life-saving equipment. On Wednesday, Clerks enjoyed a guided tour of the Elliott Museum, learning how the museum and historical society work in partnership with the county to collect, preserve, and share the history of Martin County. Martin Days concluded with a Board of Directors Meeting following the tour of the Elliott Museum.
Throughout Martin Days, Clerks were joined by several county and state elected officials, including Martin County Sheriff William D. Snyder, State Representative John Snyder, State Representative Tobin Rogers "Toby" Overdorf, and State Senator Gayle Harrell.
FCCC would like to thank the Martin County Clerk and Comptroller’s Office for providing a fundamental educational experience and the opportunity to learn more about the Martin County Clerk and Comptroller’s office and their partnerships with the facilities toured.
