Project Protect
Monday, May 1, 2023
The Attorney General’s Office announced a partnership on Thursday, April 27, 2023, with the Martin County Clerk of Court’s Office, the Hillsborough County Clerk of Court’s Office, and county sheriffs to create the Project Protect pilot program.
The Project Protect initiative provides doorbell cameras to victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, stalking, and sexual violence to make their homes safer through 24-hour audio and visual surveillance. Trained staff at Clerk of Court offices within the pilot program counties will provide victims with information on how to receive doorbell cameras through the program.
In support of Project Protect, Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers (FCCC) encourages you to help spread the word by resharing any relevant social media from FCCC or the Attorney General’s Office.
While the pilot program’s success will guide the expansion, Project Protect has the goal of eventually offering the program in as many Florida counties as possible. Please see the WFTS Tampa Bay article, linked here for additional information.
