The Florida Bar Media & the Communications Law Section, in collaboration with The Florida Bar and the Florida Supreme Court, is holding a Reporters’ Workshop: The Creation of Sixth District Court of Appeal on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., ET.

The panel – which includes judges, attorneys, and the Honorable Stacy M. Butterfield, CPA, Polk County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller – is discussing the new court from its inception to current operations and touching on some of the challenges encountered along the way.

Attendees will learn the impetus behind the establishment of the Sixth District Court of Appeals, the impacts on the affected circuits and DCAs, the process of implementing the new court, and an inside view of current operations at the court.
