Clerk Smith Announces Retirement

 The Honorable Jeffrey R. Smith, CPA, CGFO, CGMA, (Indian River) has announced his retirement, effective June 30, 2023, after 11 years as Indian County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller.
"On behalf of the entire team at FCCC, Civitek, E-Filing Authority, and Kestrel, we are grateful for Clerk Smith's gracious service and conscientious leadership," said Chris Hart, FCCC CEO. "Clerk Smith demonstrated time and time again his servant heart, impeccable manners, experienced-based decisions, respect and consideration for others, and financial stewardship. We will truly miss working with Clerk Smith, he is a friend. Thank you, Jeff!"
Clerk Smith has played a significant role in the success of the New Clerk Academy by teaching multiple sessions and mentoring class members.
He currently serves as the Chair of the Comptroller & Clerk to the Board Committee and has been a valuable member of the committee for several years. Clerk Smith also served as a Florida E-Filing Authority board member for eight years, serving as Vice Chairman from 2015-2019 and as Secretary/Treasurer from 2019-2023.
