2023 FCCC Summer Conference Concludes
Wednesday, June 14, 2023
The 2023 FCCC Summer Conference was held at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa on June 6-8, 2023. The conference kicked off with keynote speaker, Philip Gulley, Author of Front Porch Tales.
The Honorable Barry Baker (Suwannee) was installed as Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers President during the Annual banquet on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Clerk Baker was sworn in by Tim Sanders, former Madison County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. His presidency for the 2023-2024 program year begins on July 1, 2023. Clerk Baker's theme for the year is "Growing Together: Firmly Rooted; Growing Strong; and Sowing the Seed." “I thought I could bring something to the table,” Baker said. “In coming on the board and going through the different positions, a thing you do realize is that it doesn’t matter if you’re Miami-Dade or Liberty County you all go through the same problems. It’s just a different scale.”
Clerk Baker's predecessor, the Honorable Carolyn Timmann (Martin), served as the 2022-2023 FCCC President.
T he Honorable Stacy M. Butterfield, CPA (Polk), received the 2022-2023 Clerk of the Year award, presented by Clerk Timmann. "This year Clerk Butterfield had a major role in moving our legislative efforts forward,” said Clerk Timmann. “Beginning in July, she chaired the Budget Bill workgroup, working closely with myself and other Clerks to solicit feedback and review suggestions from our colleagues that would inform our legislative priorities. She eventually took over as our new FCCC Legislative Chair in January and guided our legislative committee through the planning process and the 2023 Florida Legislative Session. I am very proud to honor my friend and colleague Stacy Butterfield with the 2022-2023 Clerk of the Year award for these accomplishments and for demonstrating exceptional leadership on behalf of our association.”
