Monday, September 18, 2023
The first of seven interim committee weeks held in advance of the 2024 Regular Session of the Florida Legislature begin today, Monday, September 18, 2023, highlighted by the formal designation of Representative Daniel Perez, R-Miami, as the next Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives. Members gathered in the House Chamber at 10:00 a.m., ET., this morning for the designation ceremony, which was streamed live via The Florida Channel. Representative Perez is slated to become speaker after the November 2024 elections and will succeed current Speaker of the House Paul Renner.

A full schedule of events for Tuesday’s committee meetings may be accessed via this link.

This week also marks the start of the FCCC Legislative Update WebEx sessions for membership, which will be held at 10:00 a.m., ET., at the end of each interim committee week this fall and at the end of each week of the 2024 legislative session that begins on January 9, 2024. Clerks and Comptrollers may register for this Friday’s session by going directly to the Clerks and Comptrollers’ Legislative WebEx registration page.
