Governor DeSantis Appoints Jason Welty as Jefferson County Clerk and Comptroller

Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Jason Welty as Jefferson County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. Clerk Welty replaces J.C. O’Steen, Esq., who served as the Ad Interim Clerk of the Circuit Court for Jefferson County after being appointed by Chief Judge Frank Allman in September 2023.

Clerk Welty was surrounded by friends, family, and fellow Clerks as he was sworn in on Monday, November 13, 2023.

Welty has more than 15 years of experience in state government, currently serving as the Deputy Executive Director for the Florida Clerks of Court Operations Corporation.
