Florida Supreme Court Appoints Members of the Judicial Management Council

The Florida Supreme Court (Court) on July 15, 2024, released Administrative Order 24-41 appointing or reappointing members to the Court’s Judicial Management Council. This focused advisory body assists the chief justice and the Court proactively identify trends, potential crises, and means to address them. Filling terms expiring on June 30, 2028, the Court appointed the Honorable Jonathan D. Gerber, Appellate Judge, Fourth District Court of Appeal; the Honorable Michael T. McHugh, Circuit Court Judge, Twentieth Judicial Circuit; the Honorable Bertila Sota, Circuit Court Judge, Eleventh Judicial Circuit; and attorneys Laird A. Lile of Naples and Zackary T. Zuroweste of Clearwater. Filling the remainder of a term expiring on June 30, 2026, due to a vacancy, the Court also appointed the Honorable Julie K. Taylor, County Court Judge, Duval County. The Honorable Carlos G. Muñiz shall serve as Chair of the Council through June 30, 2026, and Eric W. Maclure, State Courts Administrator, shall serve as a nonvoting member.
