This past Thursday, the Hernando County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Office raised nearly $700.00 to support local citizens impacted by Hurricane Helene, with the Honorable Doug Chorvat Jr., CGCIO, CPM (Hernando), taking pies to the face in a lighthearted charity event. Clerk staff and partners contributed $2.00 per pie for the chance to pie Clerk Chorvat, with all proceeds benefiting the United Way of Hernando.
"This storm was no joke," said Clerk Chorvat. "It has caused some of the most extensive devastation I have ever witnessed, and countless members of our community have been affected."
The Clerk's office is not new to charitable contributions. Clerk staff also have the option to participate in a voluntary payroll deduction, allowing a portion of their salary to be donated directly to the United Way of Hernando or other chosen charities.
