MVP of the Week

Tuesday, November 12, 2024

The Orange County Clerk of the Circuit Court’s Office is “Elevating the Clerk Brand” by actively engaging in community service. The Honorable Tiffany Moore Russell, Esq., FCCC President, along with the “Clerks Care” team and teenagers from the youth mentoring organization LANES, volunteered at United Against Poverty (UP) Orlando for their 2024 Service Project. This dedicated group assisted with cleaning, organizing, and stocking shelves, as well as sorting donated clothing and household items in UP’s Member Marketplace. Additionally, they conducted inventory in UP’s Emergency Food Pantry. These efforts supported UP’s mission of empowering individuals living in poverty to achieve economic self-sufficiency. In total, 64 volunteers contributed 192 service impact hours to benefit local families!

The Gilchrist County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller's Office is "Strengthening Our Posture as Digital Recordkeepers" by partnering with Kofile to scan and index all historical documents, ensuring they are accessible online. The Clerk's office is excited to announce, upon completion, all deeds from 1888 to the present will be fully accessible and searchable online. Gilchrist County has digitized a comprehensive collection of records, including all deeds from the county's inception and transcribed deeds from 1888 to 1924. Additionally, marriage records are available online from 1926 to the present, and Official Records can now be accessed from 1960 onward. This digitization initiative offers significant advantages not only to local residents, but also to anyone in need of these vital records. Key benefits include saving time, improving research accuracy, enhancing record quality, preserving original documents, and providing remote access to these important resources.
