Clerks and Comptrollers were officially sworn in during ceremonies held throughout the state last week. The new four-year term began on January 7, 2025.
Of note, the Honorable Juan Fernandez-Barquin, Esq. (Miami-Dade) was sworn in on January 10, 2025, with support from several members of the Miami-Dade legislative delegation, local officials, and dignitaries, including Speaker of the House Danny Perez,Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Congressman Carlos Gimenez, Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Rundle, Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia, Representative Tom Fabricio, Representative Ashley Gantt, Representative Alex Rizo, Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez, Ambassador Carlos Trujillo, Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz, Former State Representative James Bush III, and Risa Ruvin, wife of the late Harvey Ruvin, former Miami-Dade Clerk of the Circuit Court, who attended the ceremony.
