The Honorable Glenn D. Kelley, Chief Judge of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit, released an Administrative Order appointing Shannon Ramsey-Chessman, CPA, CGFO, as the Ad Interim Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller for Palm Beach County, as of Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
This appointment follows the resignation of the Honorable Joseph Abruzzo, who will step down from his position effective Monday, August 18, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Abruzzo, elected as Clerk and Comptroller in 2020 and re-elected in 2024, has been selected to serve as the next Palm Beach County Administrator. Prior to his role as Clerk, he served in both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate.
Ramsey-Chessman previously served as Chief of Staff, Chief Deputy Clerk, and Chief Information Officer for the Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller’s Office. Over her tenure, she has held a number of key leadership roles, including Budget Manager, Finance Director, and Chief Operating Officer of Finance.
