On Tuesday, the class was joined by other Clerks and Clerks' staff across the state for a Florida Department of Corrections (DOC) special tour of the Reception and Medical Center in Lake Butler and Union Correctional Institution in Raiford. The tour included a detailed tour of the DOC facilities, including a visit to Florida's only prison hospital, the male death row unit, and a tour of the PRIDE license plate plant. FCCC would like to thank DOC Region 2 Director John Palmer and many other DOC officials for hosting the Clerks.
On Friday morning, the class participated in the Low Elements Challenge Course at Lake Wauburg. This program progresses through icebreakers, team-based problem-solving activities, and culminates in low elements. These low elements are various logs, cables, and planks 1-2 feet off the ground that require group cooperation.
