2026 FCCC Winter Conference Concludes

The 2026 FCCC Winter Conference was held last week at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, bringing together more than 380 attendees, including 59 Clerks and Comptrollers.
The conference kicked off on Tuesday with a welcome from the Honorable Doug Chorvat Jr., CGCIO, CPM (Hernando), FCCC President, and the Honorable Gregory C. Harrell (Marion), whose county hosted this year’s Winter Conference. Their remarks set the tone for keynote presenter Leonard “Elwood” Wood,who spoke about vulnerability, motivation, change management, and emotional intelligence, and their relation to effective leadership. |

| The Honorable Juan Fernandez-Barquin, Esq. (Miami-Dade), was recognized for his completion of the New Clerk Academy, which is a 240-hour certification program for newly elected Clerks and Comptrollers. The Honorable Ryan L. Butler (Indian River), who was not present, was also recognized for completing the program. |

Attendees spent the week hearing from subject‑matter experts on the most pressing issues facing Clerks’ offices today, with sessions spanning leadership development, comptroller and finance responsibilities, and the evolving work of Inspector General and Internal Audit functions.
